Mary Pipher, Ph.D. is a clinical psychologist / therapist / cultural anthropologist and has made numerous national appearances speaking about families and our culture. She is the author of many articles and three national best-selling books.

Dr. Pipher will speak about her most recent book, The Shelter of Each Other: Rebuiling our Families, which examines the effects of the culture on families and explores how the loss of community and the proliferation of media and technology have hurt our oldest institution. She will share anecdotal stories and research-based strategies for strengthening our families and working together to build a better community.

In addition to the evening public forum, Edina PCN sponsors a special afternoon session for Edina educators.
