Dr. Peter Benson, President and CEO of the Search Institute, will address the power of nurturing a child’s unique “spark” -- that authentic passion, dream or skill that inspires from within and motivates that particular child. Young people who pursue their “spark” in music, creative arts, academics, sports, volunteerism, or the like, navigate their journey to adulthood with more confidence, purpose and joy.
Once a young person recognizes his or her “spark,” the child needs adult support to keep the flame lit. Teachers, administrators, coaches and staff at school play an essential role in helping young people of every age kindle their “spark” to reach their full potential.
To assist educators in playing this key role, Dr. Benson will discuss how to identify and foster “sparks” both in and out of the classroom. Dr. Benson’s “sparks” work aligns with the District’s strategic initiative of creating a more personalized learning experience for each student.
Educator RSVPs will be handled through Keep Certified.
